Accounting & Claims Assistant (full time) Job Opening – Warners’ Stellian

Summary/Job Statement:
The Accounting and Claims Assistant provides direct assistance in the department by helping the Supervisor with assigned daily, weekly and monthly accounting tasks and is responsible in the supervisor’s absence to ensure that critical tasks are completed timely. Additionally, the Assistant supports the claims team by filing claims during periods of peak volume.

Essential Duties & Job Responsibilities:

  • Has a strong understanding of accounting principles and is able to perform the tasks as assigned by the Supervisor to ensure that the revenues and expenses of the Customer Service department are recorded and reported accurately and timely.
  • Performs the following accounting functions:
  • Daily entry of vendor invoices, manufacturer warranty credits and payments
  • Prepares daily bank deposit for both Corporate and Customer Service accounting offices.
  • Reviews Technician notes daily to check for accuracy.
  • Understand and interpret Warranty Provider guidelines as related to the administration and processing of successful claims.
  • Generate and submit new warranty claims daily as volume requires.
  • Understands and adheres to the principles of proper separation of accounting duties within the team.
  • Research rejected claims, escalated claims and pending warranty claims. Communicate issues or concerns that may prevent the successful settlement of any claims immediately to supervisor.
  • Communicate with CSRs, Field Service Technicians, Parts personnel and Warranty provider as needed to complete assigned duties.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned.

  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision, is organized, and efficient in the use of company resources and time.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with parties inside and outside the WST organization.

Job Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:

  • Diploma or GED with 2-4 years of accounting department experience.
  • Associates Degree in accounting/finance and/or equivalent work experience with 1-3 years of accounting responsibilities.

  • Be able to use a PC comfortably
  • Learn and understand software applications
  • Typing at a fast pace with accuracy
  • Word and Excel experience

Other (travel, overtime, etc.):

  • Overtime as required
